After all the fun in the dilapidated trailer in Part 1, Scott and Angela asked us if we wanted to see what could be done in the abandoned house. “Of course!” we said. This house made no sense at all. I couldn’t really discern the purpose of any of the rooms. I saw no kitchen, but we did see a lot of building materials. There was enough miscellaneous supplies inside that house to build another house. Maybe that was the purpose of the house: to birth other houses. But the “Stop Work” notice you can see in a few of the photos put an end to those dreams.
In addition to the “keeper of the house” (the cat who got in via a method that was not the front door) it had at least one other resident. (I can only imagine how many animals might live in that house…) While we were getting Scott and Angela situated in the indoor photos below I saw a blur fly out of the closet directly to my right. Initially I thought my mind was playing tricks on me, creepy house and all, but I poked my head into the next room and there is a winged creature flying around. A bat. Again, if you know Scott, in recent history he has had a bit of a Batman thing going on. I don’t know how to explain it other than sometimes Scott simply wears a Batman mask. So, like Scott and trailers, the bat was symbolic of Scott yet again. We have no pictures of the bat, it quickly flew into another room and I wasn’t feeling good about chasing a winged rodent in an enclosed space. Plus we had business to attend to. Below is the result of that “business”.

The cat works on his terms. You have to shoot him while you can, because he takes orders from no one.

Pitchfork! Pitchfork! Another stab at the new American Gothic: trading pitchforks for martinis.

Thank you Scott and Angela for a hilarious and awesome afternoon of photography! Cindi is presently road tripping up the California and Oregon Coast helping a friend move to Portland, so her part in this afternoon won’t be told until her return. Stay tuned.

Thanks, Monica! Yeah, Angela really had it nailed. She would walk into a space and just own it, really Scott was along for the ride.
